Whether your horse is fine and slender or fuller-figured, the Thorowgood range has a saddle to suit. With luxurious cushioning that allows freedom of movement, these saddles are lightweight and comfortable, following every curve and contour of the horse’s back. Thorowgood has 30 years of saddlery expertise in Walsall, the saddle-making capital of England.
One of their flagship innovations is the changeable (adjustable) gullet system. While some of the older models may not have this tech, it features on all the new saddles. The gullet of a saddle facilitates proper spinal movements for the horse underneath the saddle. Removing a gullet bar is fairly simple with the use of a hex key, allowing riders to adjust them. All Thorowgood, Kent & Masters and Fairfax saddles feature a quick change gullet bar system which enables you to alter the width of your saddle to best fit the profile of your horse’s withers. If you have a square cantled saddle, then your saddle will be fitted with an ‘S’ type gullet bar and if your saddle has a round cantle, it will be fitted with an ‘R’ type gullet bar.
